Ermine Trace Nadeya
prefix Ermine Trace · British Shorthair · line: Nadeya · both eyes blue · Variant known, this cat untested
Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 161 x2p. A carrier of a variant nobody has sequenced, on a line this proposal gives a suffix to. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.
How this cat is connected to the trait
NO RECORDED PARENT LINK JOINS THIS CAT TO A FOUNDER OR TO A TESTED ANIMAL. What the record rests on instead is the line recorded on it, Nadeya, which is a source's attribution and not a descent this register can walk; and a variant a source attributes to it, DBE-ALT, which this survey does not adopt.

More than one variant could be present in this cat
DBE-ALT and Nadeya, unidentified. MORE THAN ONE VARIANT COULD BE PRESENT IN THIS CAT: DBE-ALT, Nadeya, unidentified. It is not established that any of them is, and it is not established that two are. A dominant allele comes from a parent, and this cat's recorded ancestry carries an attribution of each. A CAT HOLDING TWO IS A COMPOUND HETEROZYGOTE, which this survey records as the state associated with deaf and dead kittens, and NOTHING BUT A TEST DISTINGUISHES ONE FROM TWO.
Computed from the recorded parentage at every build, counting both the variants this survey adopts and the ones it records a source claiming and does not adopt. IT IS AN UPPER BOUND AND NOT A FINDING: it says what could be here, never what is.

ALI G. VON DEN LAUSELÜMMELN. Name. Earlier entered here as Lauselmmeln, with the u umlaut dropped. The PawPeds pedigree for Ermine Trace Nadeya read 17 August 2026 gives Lauselümmeln. THE SPELLING IS CORRECTED AND THE CAT IS THE SAME ANIMAL: SRS ns 11 33 in both
SCHOENWEG MONA LISA. Query. THE CHART RAISES A QUESTION ABOUT THIS CAT'S BLUE EYE AND DOES NOT ANSWER IT. Chart C13 annotates this animal 'Chinchilla-point with very blue eyes, possibly due to a blue-eye gene rather than the colourpoint gene'. A colourpoint cat is blue-eyed through the C locus, so a blue eye on a pointed cat is normally accounted for and carries no evidence of a dominant variant. THE COMPILER'S POINT IS THAT THE DEPTH OF COLOUR IS UNUSUAL, which is an observation and not a test. It is recorded as the query it is and no variant is adopted
SCHOENWEG TEODORO.
ERMINE TRACE NADEYA. Attribution. THE CHART NAMES THIS LINE'S VARIANT AND THIS REGISTER HAD IT AS UNIDENTIFIED. Genealogy C13 is headed 'NANOTIGR BLUE-EYED BRITISH SHORTHAIRS, DBE-ALT' and writes DBE-ALT in red beside Oliver, beside Amelia Nanotigr and beside ERMINE TRACE NADEYA, who is the foundation cat of the Ermine Trace dominant blue-eyed line. THE ERMINE TRACE AND NANOTIGR CATS ARE THEREFORE ATTRIBUTED DBE-ALT BY THEIR OWN CHART. It is an attribution and not a test: no Ermine Trace cat holds a laboratory result, and the only result ever held for Nadeya was a colourpoint test at the C locus, which this register corrected on 17 August 2026. THE VARIANT IS RECORDED AS CLAIMED AND NOT ADOPTED, which is what the variant_claimed field is for, and the line stops being counted as a variant of its own
A flag is not an error. It marks a place where two sources say different things, or where an attribution cannot be made on the evidence held.

Source
the PawPeds pedigree for Ermine Trace Nadeya, supplied 17 August 2026. Thirty ancestors of thirty possible, twenty-five of them unique, four complete generations out of four, coefficient of inbreeding 1.56 per cent
This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
