Athena from the Nice Cattery

prefix Chatterie de Nice · Siberian · both eyes blue · No variant and no line attributed

Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 161p. A carrier of a variant nobody has sequenced, on no named line. This is the group bare 161 exists for. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.

How this cat is connected to the trait

NO RECORDED PARENT LINK JOINS THIS CAT TO A FOUNDER OR TO A TESTED ANIMAL. What the record rests on instead is no recorded parent at all, which is a gap in the sources and not a statement that the cat had none.

No parent is recorded for this cat in the register, so no genealogy can be drawn. That is a gap in the sources, not a statement that the cat had none. Any offspring the register holds are listed below.

What is flagged

  1. ATHENA FROM THE NICE CATTERY. THE CATTERY STATES SHE PASSES THE EYE TO HER OFFSPRING, which is a claim of heritability made by the breeder and not a test result. It is consistent with a dominant blue eye and it is not evidence of one | NO CODE, NO DATE AND NO PARENTS ARE PUBLISHED FOR HER, so she joins nothing in this register. THIS IS THE SAME CATTERY THAT BRED PAVEL AND OMEGA CHATTERIE DE NICE, whose pedigrees are held here in full, and it publishes neither a pedigree nor a code for this cat | ENTERED SO THE PREFIX IS NOT COUNTED FROM ITS CODED CATS ALONE. Four Chatterie de Nice animals in this register carry a registry code; she is a fifth blue-eyed cat of the prefix that no registry record has been found for

A flag is not an error. It marks a place where two sources say different things, or where an attribution cannot be made on the evidence held.

The description held
TWO BLUE EYES ON A TABBY WITH WHITE. The photograph shows white on the chest, the muzzle and all four feet, which is white spotting and NOT dominant white, and she is not colourpointed. WHITE SPOTTING COVERS AN EYE WHERE THE WHITE FALLS, GIVING AN ODD EYE AND NOT TWO BLUE ONES, so the coat does not account for her. THE CATTERY CALLS THE EYES NATURAL, which is its own word and not a genotype

Source

the Chatterie de Nice cattery's own page for ATHENA, read 19 August 2026. A BREEDER'S PAGE FOR ITS OWN CAT, in English, carrying a photograph. It states she is a traditional Siberian female bred at the cattery with 'natural blue eyes', that she passes on her gaze to her offspring and that she is in the breeding programme. IT GIVES NO EMS CODE, NO DATE OF BIRTH AND NO PARENTS

This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
