Hugo Perle D'Ivorie *CZ

prefix Perle D'Ivorie · British Shorthair · line: Kotomodda, by descent from Hugo Kotomodda · both eyes blue · Identified from descendants, never genotyped · also in its ancestry: DBE-ALT

Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read DBE 163p. A carrier with no result of its own and one identified variant standing above it. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.

How this cat is connected to the trait

  1. Hugo Perle D'Ivorie *CZ, BSH o 61, written
  2. Hugo Kotomodda, the parent of Hugo Perle D'Ivorie *CZ. DBE-ALT, adopted by this survey

That is one recorded parent link, and the animal at the end of it carries a variant this survey has adopted, but has not itself been tested. Every step is a parent recorded in this register from a document; none of them is an assumption. The full genealogy is drawn below, and the sources for each animal are on its own page.

More than one variant could be present in this cat

DBE-ALT and a dominant blue eye, variant not named by the source. MORE THAN ONE VARIANT COULD BE PRESENT IN THIS CAT: DBE-ALT, a dominant blue eye, variant not named by the source. It is not established that any of them is, and it is not established that two are. A dominant allele comes from a parent, and this cat's recorded ancestry carries an attribution of each. The attributions above it are on Hugo Kotomodda. A CAT HOLDING TWO IS A COMPOUND HETEROZYGOTE, which this survey records as the state associated with deaf and dead kittens, and NOTHING BUT A TEST DISTINGUISHES ONE FROM TWO.

Computed from the recorded parentage at every build, counting both the variants this survey adopts and the ones it records a source claiming and does not adopt. IT IS AN UPPER BOUND AND NOT A FINDING: it says what could be here, never what is.

What is flagged on this tree

  1. HUGO KOTOMODDA. THE ROUTE BY WHICH THE KOTOMODDA CATS REACH A GERMAN BRITISH SHORTHAIR CATTERY. His son Hugo Perle D'Ivorie *CZ was bred in the Czech Republic and stands at vom Osterdeich in Germany, where he is the sire of the only two cats of that prefix the breeder calls dominant blue or dominant odd eyed. NO GENOTYPE IS HELD ON HIM OR ON HIS SON and no variant is adopted on this ground
  2. HUGO PERLE D'IVORIE *CZ. THE ANIMAL THROUGH WHICH THE KOTOMODDA CATS REACH THIS CATTERY, AND THE ONE WHOSE CODE THE ORDINARY CAUSES DO NOT EXPLAIN. PawPeds gives him BSH o 61 with no white code, and every other eye code in these two pedigrees sits on a cat that also carries white. HIS PAWPEDS RECORD STOPS AT HIS PARENTS: above Hugo Kotomodda and Yumi New Montemi every position reads 'No information in the database', which is what the same database says above Oliver, the founder of the Nanotigr line. NO GENOTYPE IS HELD ON EITHER OF THEM AND NO VARIANT IS ADOPTED HERE: a cattery name is not an animal and an attribution on one chart does not travel down a pedigree by itself. THE F6 IS A BREEDER'S GENERATION COUNT FROM AN OUTCROSS AND IS NOT A REGISTER CLASS, the same distinction this register has had to make for the Celeste described as F4
  3. HUGO PERLE D'IVORIE *CZ. Eye and coat, THE STRONGEST EXCLUSION THIS REGISTER CAN MAKE FROM A CODE. This cat is blue-eyed in both eyes and its recorded coat carries NO WHITE SPOTTING CODE AT ALL, is not dominant white and is not colourpointed. NOTHING IN THE COAT CAN PALE AN IRIS. A dominant blue eye is present and it is not the KIT odd-eye case and not the white-cat case. Its registry has entered no dominant eye code on it. WHICH VARIANT IS NOT DEDUCIBLE FROM A COAT CODE and none is adopted: a genotype or a trace to a named founder would name it.

A flag is not an error. It marks a place where two sources say different things, or where an attribution cannot be made on the evidence held.

Source

the PawPeds pedigrees for Meo vom Osterdeich and Oihane vom Osterdeich, supplied 19 August 2026; the cattery vom Osterdeich's own cat pages, read 19 August 2026; and the breeder-compiled genealogy headed 'ANOTHER KOTOMODDA LINE, PROBABLY DBE', subtitled 'Possibly mixes DBE with KIT gene odd-eye bicolour cats', supplied 19 August 2026. IT DRAWS EACH CAT WITH A PAIR OF EYE ICONS: two blue for blue eyes, one orange and one blue for an odd eye, and a plain blue circle where the eye is not known. It annotates one animal in words as a non-DBE odd-eye bicolour, AND IT CARRIES NO GENOTYPE ON ANY ANIMAL. Above Hugo Kotomodda it draws '???'

This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
