Blue Eyes Directory · blueeyesdirectory.com Record mco-35, printed 30 August 2026. Every animal on this sheet has its own page and its own source at that address.
Rosa
prefix BelleAyr · Maine Coon · line: Rociri Elvis · no blue eye. Carrier status not known · Variant known, this cat untested · also in its ancestry: Pillowtalk-Foreigner
Under the variant field this directory proposes, this cat would read no field at all, which the scheme calls unknown. Tested clear, but a line in which no variant has been identified stands in the recorded ancestry, so no panel now available can clear this cat. The proposal is set out in full here, and no registry issues this field today: it is computed from the record at each build and is not part of any registration.
How this cat is connected to the trait
Rosa, MCO as 11 / 01
BelleAyr OBlue Sky, MCO ds 11 68, the dam of Rosa. genotyped DBE-RE
That is one recorded parent link, and the animal at the end of it has a laboratory result, so what this cat could carry is not a guess about a line but a consequence of a test on a relative. Every step is a parent recorded in this register from a document; none of them is an assumption. The full genealogy is drawn below, and the sources for each animal are on its own page.

What the pedigree implies
POSSIBLE CARRIER BY DESCENT. DBE-RE, through BelleAyr OBlue Sky, Joyfield's Dolly, Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux; the Pillowtalk-Foreigner line, no variant identified, through IC Langstteich's McDanger of Pillowtalk, Langstteich's Bella Fantastica, Langstteich's Bellissimo Blue; the Rociri Elvis line, no variant identified, through BelleAyr OBlue Sky, Joyfield's Dolly, Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux
This is computed from the recorded parentage each time this site is built and is not typed into the register. It is a deduction from the trait being dominant, not a statement by any source, and it is not the same thing as the record's own status field. Only a laboratory settles it for an individual. The full list is on latent lines.
What is flagged on this tree
ROCIRI ELVIS, GIVEN ON THE PEDIGREE AS ROCIRI'S ELVIS. HIS OWN SHEET, AND WHAT IS AND IS NOT ON IT. THIRTY ANCESTORS, ALL THIRTY UNIQUE, FOUR COMPLETE GENERATIONS, INBREEDING 0.0 PER CENT. THE 68 ON HIM IS THE ONLY 68 ON THE WHOLE DOCUMENT AND THE ONLY EYE CODE OF ANY KIND ON IT IS THE 63 ON JUSTCOONS HA SHISCH, MCO w 63, A DOMINANT WHITE ODD-EYED CAT IN THE THIRD GENERATION. His grandsire Mainefield's Oye Como Va is MCO w, also white, and carries no eye code. NO OTHER ANIMAL ON THE SHEET CARRIES AN EYE CODE AT ALL. THAT IS THE WHOLE OF THE EVIDENCE ABOVE HIM: two white cats, one of them odd-eyed, and twenty-eight animals with nothing recorded about their eyes. In a white cat an eye cannot be read either way, so the sheet neither supplies a source for his 68 nor rules one out, WHICH IS WHY THE PUBLISHED TRACE ABOVE HIM RUNS THROUGH WHITE CATS AND GOES COLD THERE
JOYFIELD'S SURVIVOR VAN NOUS DEUX. Panel. The result that named this cat's variant came from a panel of four: DBE-ALT, DBE-RE, DBE-CEL and DBE-AGO. DBE-cDc AND DBE-xHW WERE NOT ON IT, so a second variant from those two would not have been seen
BELLEAYR OBLUE SKY. THE STRONGEST EVIDENCE IN THIS REGISTER THAT 68 AND 69 ARE ONE VARIANT, AND IT RESTS ON A GENOTYPE AND NOT ON AN INFERENCE. THREE FULL SISTERS, ONE MATING, 14 SEPTEMBER 2022, out of Joyfield's Survivor van Nous Deux, MCO es 03 68, and Justcoons Ohio State, MCO ds 22. ALL THREE ARE GENOTYPED DBE-RE. THE REGISTRIES CODED THEM THREE DIFFERENT WAYS: BELLEAYR O'BLUE SKY IS MCO ds 11 68, BELLEAYR O'BLUE SEA IS MCO ds 09 11 WITH NO EYE CODE AT ALL, AND BELLEAYR O'BLUE PEARL IS MCO ds 09 11 69. Two of the three are blue-eyed and one is odd-eyed. ONE ALLELE, CONFIRMED BY TEST ON EACH ANIMAL SEPARATELY, PRODUCED A 68, A 69 AND A BLANK IN ONE LITTER. THE ARST VENEZIA DESCENT AND THE ERMINE TRACE SHEETS REACH THE SAME CONCLUSION BY READING CODES DOWN A PEDIGREE; THIS LITTER REACHES IT FROM THE LABORATORY. It is therefore the primary evidence in this register on the question and those are the corroboration. IT ALSO SHOWS THAT AN ABSENT EYE CODE IS NOT AN ABSENT VARIANT: O'Blue Sea is blue-eyed, genotyped, and carries no eye code, so EVERY COUNT IN THIS REGISTER DRAWN FROM EYE CODES UNDERSTATES
ROSA. Litter. TWO LITTERS FELL ON 23 JUNE 2024, both by Tri-D Adam, one out of BelleAyr OBlue Sky and one out of BelleAyr OBlue Sea, who are themselves littermates. This cat is out of Sky on the breeder's litter record. Belleayr Roxanna, grouped with this litter on that record, is registered with TICA out of Sea | Panel. TESTED AGAINST FOUR VARIANTS OF THE SIX NOW IDENTIFIED, not against all of them. The breeder states that this cattery's cats were run for DBE-ALT, DBE-RE, DBE-CEL and DBE-AGO. DBE-cDc AND DBE-xHW WERE NOT TESTED FOR, so wild type here means carrying none of four and says nothing about the other two
A flag is not an error. It marks a place where two sources say different things, or where an attribution cannot be made on the evidence held.

Source
Breeder's litter record supplied by the author 14 August 2026, giving sex, EMS code, call name and the DBE marking for each kitten. DECLARED INTEREST applies. Genotyped as part of the cohort published as Table 2 of Abitbol et al., Animal Genetics 2025;56:e70020, six DBE C/T and four non-DBE C/C Maine Coons: recorded non-DBE. No individual laboratory certificate is held; the individual status is that recorded on the Glasgow schedule and confirmed by the author. BAER tested at the University of Glasgow on 17 September 2024: NORMAL HEARING IN BOTH EARS, on a signed certificate. Testing status from the breeder's confirmation to this survey, 17 August 2026, that all five kittens of 23 June 2024 were tested and that the DBE marking on the litter record is not the list of animals tested. Panel from the breeder's statement to this survey, 17 August 2026: the cats of this cattery were tested for DBE-ALT, DBE-RE, DBE-CEL and DBE-AGO. DBE-cDc AND DBE-xHW WERE NOT ON THE PANEL
This directory is a working aid compiled from published charts, registry documents and breeder statements. It is not a register and it has no standing of any kind. The grade attaches to the animal, not to the line: a cat whose ancestor was genotyped is line-traced, not genotyped.
